Munster centre Chris Farrell has been named in the team for their Pro14 clash with Edinburgh tomorrow night and it will be his first start in over eight months after a horrific knee injury.
Farrell has but the injury firmly behind him and is now looking to get back to contributing on the pitch ahead of an intense schedule for the province.
Two Champions Cup games against Castres and three Pro14 interpro games are all to come before the turn of the year and Farrell says that the busy period is why Munster have such a big squad.
“There is so much competition. You look at our back row, now we have Jaco (Taute) back in the centre, me, Sammy Arnold is now an international and Dan Goggin was playing fantastic before he got injured. You look at the 10 jersey as well.
“There is so much quality there and we are going to need that in the next few weeks. The squad is really, really competitive and that’s exactly what we need.”
The former Ulster and Grenoble centre added that he was looking forward to playing on the 4G at Musgrave Park. The game kicks off at 7:35 and if you can’t make it to Musgrave Park, the game is live on eirSport.
