Ireland’s women’s rugby side suffered a 19-10 loss to the USA in their opening Autumn International at Donnybrook earlier today.
Adam Griggs’ side left themselves too much to do with the concession of two early tries courtesy of Kimber Rozier and Kaitlyn Broughton.
However, Ireland struck back before the break thanks to a stunning effort from UL Bohemian’s Laura Sheehan that cut the deficit to seven points at the break.

Ireland piled on the pressure in the early stages of the second half but were undone when Meya Bizer crossed over for the third USA try.
Another UL Bohs player, Eimear Considine, gave Ireland hope of a comeback in the final stages but her effort came too late to deny the USA a victory.
