WATCH: Conway discusses “smart training” & workload management

Andrew Conway was speaking to media during a Lifestyle Sports event during the week and discussed managing his workload while trying to stay fresh for some huge upcoming games for Munster and Ireland over the coming months.

Lifestyle Sports brand ambassador Conway says it is a balancing act with input from coaches and strength and conditioning personnel being crucial.

“You need to train really smart and not feel fatigued because the nature of the beast at the moment is that is just one thing after another. After that first initial block if you are lucky enough to be selected for November (Ireland), you have a hefty enough month.

“Then you go straight into one league game, double Europe, three interpros, double Europe and then before you know it you are in middle January and there is a Six Nations popping its head up.

“There is a bit of player input but we also have S&C guys and physios that are sitting in on meeting with coaches and discussing these things. There is a lot of thought put into it.”
