Last winter, Doon reached a first county final in 18 years where they were beaten by Na Piarsiagh in a competitive game in the Gaelic Grounds.
However, building on that run to the final will be keen for a youthful yet experienced Doon side who have promised much over the past number of years in the underage ranks.
Dean Coleman spoke ahead of the championship and isn’t getting carried away by anything ahead of a potentially long year.
“It was a good experience to get there but look it’s a long way away to a county final. We’re still only in April so take it one game at a time.”
Doon open their campaign with a clash against Patrickswell in a repeat of last years epic semi-final where Doon prevailed by a solitary point.
A win on Sunday will provide a huge platform from which to build on and Coleman is quick to point out the work his side have done in the off-season.
“We have a lot of work put in over the winter so we will take every game as it comes and see what happens.”
