WATCH: Donal Ryan says there is a “great buzz” in the squad as the Ladies Footballer’s gear up for Offaly

The Limerick Ladies Footballers kick off their Lidl National Ladies Football League this Sunday as they travel to Offaly to take on the Faithful County.

Donal Ryan is into his second year in charge of the side who reached the semi-finals of the All-Ireland Junior Championship last year, losing to eventual champions Fermanagh.

Last weekend Offaly kicked off their season with an impressive 3-16 to 1-16 win away to Carlow.

Ryan is confident in his sides chances this weekend however with a “great buzz” surrounding the squad.

“Training is going fantastically well. We have huge turnouts and huge commitment from the girls. We’re delighted with the bunch we have. There is a great buzz around so we are delighted with the way things are going.

“It’s great to have a match every week because we would have been looking for challenge games anyways. So it’s fantastic.”
