WATCH – Donal O’Sullivan looking to take lessons from league into championship

The Limerick senior football captain wants to put a line through what was a disappointing league campaign as he and his teammates prepare for their Munster Championship opener with Clare.

The treaty county are in a period of transition following the retirement of some experienced members of the squad over the past few years.

“From a team point of view with the transition that there’s been over the past year or two, you’re going to probably take some lessons while you’re in the building stage.

O’Sullivan says that one of the main positives to take out of the league for some of the younger players is that they had the chance to experience the ins and outs of the inter-county game off the pitch.

“Lads realizing what’s expected of a senior inter-county footballer from a diet point of view, strength and conditioning and obviously the skills aspect of it. It’s a bit of a lesson aside from the training.”
