WATCH: Garryowen’s Mark Donnelly looks ahead to the U20 Six Nations

Last year, the Irish U20 Six Nations squad began their campaign in exhilarating fashion, picking up three successive bonus point wins to start the competition.

Those wins came against Scotland, Wales and England as Ireland looked set to not only take the championship but had real hopes of a Grand Slam.

However, the pandemic put paid to those hopes as the competition was cancelled with no winner.

Garryowen and Munster’s Mark Donnelly was a part of that side and is in his final year at the grade ahead of this years tournament which starts next month.

With four weeks to go, Donnelly says that experience of being involved in 2020 should stand to him and the squad.

“The experience of being here last year does help you and it helps you know what you need to do.”
