WATCH: “It’s for local people, anyone around” – Castle Rovers Chairman Damien Malone on the unveiling of the new pitch

Castle Rovers FC chairman Damien Malone has spoken of his delight at the new facilities being opened for the club.

The Limerick side recently unveiled their new pitch that is the culmination of some brilliant work by the community, in particular the volunteers that are involved with the club.

Malone was full of praise for all committee members who worked hard on the project.

“It was all voluntary work. We spread the field, we did everything ourselves. As you can see, it looks absolutely stunning out here.”

The chairman also mentioned that the field is open to anyone who wants to use it, as well as speaking of future plans.

“It’s not just Castle Rovers, it’s a community field. It’s for local people, anyone around. We’re going to try to do a walk track around it eventually, build a clubhouse in the future hopefully,” said Malone.
