WATCH: Johann van Graan on his decision to extend his stay with Munster

Munster head coach Johann van Graan will be at the province for a further two years after a contract extension was announced today.

The South African took on the job as head coach in November 2017 and his current deal was due to expire at the end of next season.

However, both parties were happy to extend that deal to June 2022 and van Graan spoke about it at Munster’s weekly press conference today.

“I’m delighted to stay at Munster. It’s a fantastic club with incredible people and I’m very lucky that Munster want me to stay on.

“You have always got to look at the future. My family and I have settled very well in Limerick. We have enjoyed Munster.

“This is professional sport. My contract was until the end of next season. Munster Rugby said that they wanted to keep me and i gave it a lot of thought with my family but delighted to stay.

“On the very first day i said that this about Munster not about me. I would like to keep it that way.”
