Adare wil look back on the 2018 club championship with little fondness with the West Limerick side failing to win any of their five games.
Draws against Ballybrown and Doon were enough to preserve their status in Group A.
2019 provides a new opportunity for all and Adare’s John Fitzgibbon is greatly looking forward to the resumption of the championship having not played a competitive championship game since that draw with Ballybrown last September.
“As a club player, you’re waiting around a long time for the big games to come….So we’re looking forward to it definitely.”
Of course, Adare will be anchored by All-Ireland winning captain Declan Hannon who is Adare’s sole representative on the Limerick team.
Fitzgibbon says Hannon’s leadership has been vital in the teams development with the centre back leading by example.
“A lot of us have grown up with Deccie and known how good he was and is. It’s great for the club and his friends to see him lead Limerick out every day.”
“To have such a leader in training back in the squad, day-in day-out, is great.”
