WATCH: John Kiely “Another step in right direction but long year ahead”

Limerick made it three from three in the 2019 Allianz National hurling league to stay top of the pile in division 1A courtesy of a 2-18 to 0-15 win over Kilkenny.

Speaking to the media afterwards John Kiely says the ten minutes before half time was crucial in securing the victory.

“A very good performance, coming out in the second half against the breeze we had to adjust the way we were playing the game. Conditions were very windy and made it very difficult.

“All told, I am happy with the performance and happy with the few lads that maybe haven’t had game time who came in today and got some good game time under their belt like Robbie Hanley and Paddy O’Loughlin. It was great to get them on the field and also another game for Conor Boylan.”

The Galbally native was pleased with how his side carried the ball and summed up by saying that the game was “another step in the right direction for us but there is a long year ahead.
