WATCH: John Kiely discusses player recovery and importance of home support

Limerick face into their second game in a week this Sunday when they welcome Clare to the Gaelic Grounds.

Limerick will complete their Munster championship the following weekend against Tipperary with manager John Kiely discussing the importance of recovery each week.

“I think it’s important that they relax on a Monday, not to be putting another structure in on top of them.”

“The most important thing for the boys post-match is sleep and food and if you can throw in a bit of cold water, whether it will be Ballybunion or Lough Dearg I don’t mind.”

In the opening round of the Munster Championship Limerick were well beaten by Cork in the Gaelic Grounds.

However, the support on the day was clear for all to see and Kiely says they will be needed in full voice again this Sunday.

“That 16th man has been huge for us and has helped us in the last 20 months.

They were huge for us in key moments last year and hopefully will be the same this Sunday.”
