WATCH: John Kiely on being excited for Munster start and facing a wounded Cork

Limerick begin their Munster SHC campaign this Sunday at the LIT Gaelic Grounds when they welcome champions Cork at 4pm.

John Meyler’s side got off to a poor start in their first game against Tipperary last time out but have caused Limerick plenty of problems in recent years.

Limerick manager John Kiely is excited to get the players out onto the pitch and get their reign as All-Ireland champions underway.

“This has been on our radar for a long, long time now since the draw was made. It’s the first round of the round robin, two points up for grabs.

“We know how valuable every point is and how difficult it is to get every single point that you gather along the way.

“Really looking forward to Sunday. The championship’s in hurling and football have got off to a great start. Everybody is anxious to get on with it now.”
