WATCH – John Tuohy praises the impact made by Government Grant Scheme 2017.

Following the first year of the grants, John Tuohy says that the financial help has allowed his Limerick senior camogie side to focus on new areas of training and preparation.

Last year, Limerick made history by lifting their first Munster title at senior level.

“We looked at sports phycologists, we looked at nutritionists and video analysis, these are areas we probably wouldn’t have looked at before.”

The programme is a collaboration between the Ladies Gaelic Football Association, the Camogie Association and the Womens GPA, supported by Sport Ireland and the Department of Sport.

Grants were widely welcomed as a means of supporting the 55 inter-county teams, recognising players as elite athletes and acknowledging their contribution to Irish communities.

Hear from Tuohy and some players, managers & officers from various counties on the impact it’s having for the teams below.
