WATCH: JvG “I thought it was a job well done tonight”

Munster returned to winning ways with a 64-7 thumping of Ulster at Thomond Park on Saturday evening which puts them in reasonably good shape heading into a crucial period for the province.

Head coach Johann van Graan was speaking to media afterwards and was happy with the response from his side given some inconsistent form over the last few weeks.

“We as a team took on the responsibility this week after a below par performance last Friday night. We start with the individual, with myself and each guy takes responsibility for his job and I thought it was job well done tonight.”

Alby Mathewson made his Munster debut and was lively around the park with some snappy distribution from the base of the ruck. Van Graan says the New Zealander brings something different to the squad.

“I thought he was excellent, I think he kinda surprised the whole team with his quick throw but he just brings something else. I think he managed the forwards pretty well.”

Next up for Munster is an way trip to Leinster followed by Champions Cup games against Exeter (A) and Gloucester (H).
