WATCH: Limerick dominate Sunday Game Team of the Year as Lynch is chosen as HOTY

John Kiely’s side were well represented on the Sunday Game Team of the Year which was chosen on the programme in the wake of yesterday’s All-Ireland final.

Each year the Sunday Game panel present their All-Star team on the final episode of the year.

Nine Limerick players made the cut on the official team in 2020, equaling the record.

Last night the panel of made their selection for the 2021 season, choosing no fewer than 11 Limerick players.

Nickie Quaid was surprisingly omitted from the side in favour of Eoin Murphy.

Five Limerick defenders were chosen with two time All-Star Dan Morrissey missing out after only starting two games this summer.

William O’Donoghue was chosen in midfield alongside Tony Kelly.

Cork’s Jack O’Connor was picked beside five Limerick forwards with reigning Hurler of the Year Gearoid Hegarty omitted.

Unsurprisingly, All-Ireland final man of the match Cian Lynch was picked as Hurler of the Year.
