Despite getting knocked out of the Championship, Limerick’s footballers made one young fan’s day on Saturday evening at the Gaelic Grounds.
John Clancy and his son Fionn wandered onto the pitch after Mayo’s victory to mix and chat with the players. John sent a letter to Newstalk’s Off the Ball describing what happened next. Fair play to the players from both teams that stayed on afterwards to chat and sign autographs and to the member of the backroom staff that gave Fionn the ball.
