WATCH: Limerick ref George Clancy has pint thrown at him by idiot fan

Clancy was touch judge for Cardiff Blues’ game against Glasgow on Saturday evening

A disgruntled fan threw his pint at the touch judge because he wasn’t happy with a decision made by the officials. Cardiff Blues’ officials have today come out and said that they are considering a life time ban for the fan due to his stupid behaviour.

The act was caught on camera and the fan was quickly escorted from the Cardiff Arms Park.

Here is a clip showcasing the incident.

Welsh regional officials are to meet in the coming days to discuss how they will discipline the man who threw the pint.

Speaking on the matter to WalesOnline, Cardiff Blues Chief Executive had this to say

“The incident was dealt with pretty swiftly and efficiently by our stewarding and security team and the individual concerned was ejected from the ground.

“I spoke to George Clancy after the game and apologised on behalf of the club and he appreciated and accepted that.

“It’s an extremely serious incident and the individual concerned won’t be welcome back at the ground for the foreseeable future.

“We will assess the situation and deal with it in the appropriate manner.

“At this stage, a life ban is a serious consideration.

“It doesn’t look good at all. There is no place for this kind of thing in rugby and such behaviour will not be tolerated.

“You can’t condone it. There is no excuse for it.

“We will make a decision in due course and we will be taking the necessary action.”

The incident has outraged a lot of fans and many of them took to social media over the weekend to call for a life time ban for the perpetrator. It will be interesting to see what sort of ban he gets as it such an uncommon occurrence in the sport.
