WATCH: Limerick senior football manager Billy Lee on MFC opener

Billy Lee is aware of the challenge that faces his Limerick side this Saturday night as they welcome Clare to the Gaelic Grounds in the Munster Football Championship opener. Clare will enter the game as heavy favourites after impressing in division 2 of the league while Limerick struggled in the bottom tier.

However, Lee is confident that his side can cause an upset, should they implement what they have been working on in the training field and combine this skill with commitment on Saturday night.

“That’s all you can ask a team in the championship. To go out, give 100\%, they work for the team, give the best they can and try take the game down the home stretch.”

“(Clare) They’ve done a fantastic job and Liam has done the same with Tipperary and that gives the likes of ourselves and Waterford the challenge to try and catch up with them over the coming years.”

“Clare are a division 2 side, we are in division 4 and that tells its own story… That’s telling the story exactly the way it is.”
