Limerick will become the first city in the Northern Hemisphere to host the Tag Rugby World Cup in 2021.
The University of Limerick will host the tournament that is expected to boost the economy in the region of €5 million.
The competition which takes place in August of 2021 will play host to over 3,000 players over the course of four days.
The previous three editions of the competition have all been held in the Southern Hemisphere in New Zealand (2012) and Australia (2015 & 2018).
