WATCH- Lynch: “I think the boys have been super tonight”

Treaty United captain and goal scorer Jack Lynch was full of praise for his teammates following Friday night’s 1-0 victory over Athlone Town. Lynch’s first ever goal at League of Ireland level arrived after 22 minutes as he calmly slotted the ball beyond Michael Schlingermann following a great pass from Sean McSweeney

Lynch has been a versatile option for the management team in the opening 7 games of the season as he has featured at right-back, centre-back and centre-midfield. Although Lynch is happy to play anywhere for the team, his preference is the middle of the park.

“I played most of my football in the Airtricity League at right-back but when I was growing up I would have played most of my football at centre-midfield and there is something about that position that appeals to me more. Ill play anywhere where the team needs me but if I was to get a run of games I’d like it to be in the middle of the park if at all possible,”
