WATCH: Mayor Daniel Butler hails new Limerick hurling book ‘Back2Back’ as “Amazing memories to be able to cherish”

Talking exclusively to Sporting Limerick, Limerick mayor Daniel Butler spoke about the newly released Limerick hurling book ‘Back2Back’.

The newly elected mayor discussed the importance and significance of the book following a tough period for everyone during the pandemic.

“Its been a very tough year, but its been amazing to have a book that shows that actually even during that tough period there’s been amazing memories to be able to cherish… its an incredible memento.

“The photoghraphy in it is pretty amazing as well, it captures some real magical moments.”

Following the challenging past year or so due to Covid-19, the Limerick hurling team has inspired a city while also greatly assisting in bringing some joy to so many people across the county after a draining and hard few months as he stated,

“It really has lifted the city, it was a distraction from the harsh reality we were facing at the time.”

“They bring a new sense of confidence and belief, but that’s always underpinned by the true Limerick character which is all about hard work.”

The 168-page book was published on the first of October, featuring several photos from the Sportsfile agency.
