WATCH: Mike Kerley – “The Main Focus of the Role is to Develop all the coaches here”

We caught up with newly appointed Aisling Annacotty Director of Coaching Mike Kerley to discuss the role and the challenges that lay ahead for the former League of Ireland midfielder. Kerley was officially appointed by the club on Monday evening and it will be a full-time role which is a huge commitment at junior level from both parties.

It is the first official move of its kind in the Limerick District League and Mike explained exactly what the role entails.

“The main focus of the role is to develop all the coaches at the club. At the moment, we have over 100 coaches at the club and we are trying to get them on the coaching pathway. We will try to get them on FAI coaching courses as soon as possible and I will be there as a support. Obviously, the better coaches that we have here, will filter through to better players.”

Kerley is a big addition to Annacotty as he has a distinguished career at League of Ireland level as both a player and manager and he speaks to us in detail about the clubs plans below.
