WATCH: “Moving forward, Premier A is the goal” – Castle Rovers manager Donal McCarthy looking forward to the future at new facilities

The manager of Castle Rovers senior side has spoken of his aspirations for the future of the team following the unveiling of the new pitch for the club.

Donal McCarthy currently manages the side in the third division of Limerick’s soccer set-up, Division 1A.

For the opening night, there was a past v present game played on the new surface, involving current and former players.

McCarthy spoke of the bright future that the club has following some hard luck as of late.

“Prior to COVID, we were looking good to get to Premier A. Seven or eight points clear of third place I think it was. Unfortunately, that was scuppered.”

The manager also appealed for local businesses to get behind the club, as well as mentioning the bingo nights that will be returning soon.
