WATCH: Mungret boss Storan Relishing Premier Division Challenge

Mungret Regional are looking forward to a return to Premier Division football this season after winning the Division 1A double last season. Eddie Storan’s side had the best defensive record in the division and played some impressive football as they captured the title on the final day of the season after a gallant challenge from Coonagh.

Mungret Regional manager Eddie Storan

The age profile at the club is very young with experienced players like Richie Bourke and Brian Cotter aiding the development of the multitude of young players available to Storan and coach Keith McNicholas. Storan feels that his team may have to alter their tactics when the play some of the division’s bigger teams.

We have to think about what we are going to do. Against certain teams, we will have to pick the way we play.

Ideally we want to play football and we are not going to change the way we play but we may change the way we structure our team. Again, it’s a kind of wait and see period at the moment.

Mungret begin their campaign on Thursday, August 15th with a tough clash against Fairview Rangers who, on paper have recruited well and are one of the favourites for a league title challenge.
