Munster A progressed to the British and Irish Cup quarter-finals thanks to a 27-0 win over Ospreys Premiership Select at Irish Independent Park.

A brace of opening half tries from Mike Sherry with Gavin Coombes adding a third in the second half was enough to see Peter Malone’s claim a quarter final spot. Bill Johnston was superb from the placed ball, converting all three tries and adding two penalties to maintain his 100% record.

Munster who finished second in their pool now face an away quarter-final clash with interprovincial rivals Leinster A. In the semi finals, the winners of Leinster A v Munster A will face the winners of Jersey Reds v Doncaster Knights on the weekend of April 20-22 with the exact details of both quarter and semi finals fixtures yet to be finalised.
