With the Irish squad stealing much of the headlines with the World Cup fast approaching, the Munster team has quietly gone about their business as they prepare for the upcoming domestic season.
One man looking to make an impression in his first year with the Senior squad is scrum-half Craig Casey who has praised the senior members of the squad for their warm welcome.
“The Seniors have been so welcoming. I didn’t expect to fit in so easily. They’ve been very helpful with any questions I’ve had.”
Turning 20 earlier this year, Casey says that the chance to represent Munster has been a dream of his since a very early age as he remembers his first time stepping out onto the hallowed turf at Thomond Park.
“I was delighted obviously. Something I’ve dreamed about since I was four when I was a mascot in Thomond Park with Axel. So a dream come true really.”
With frontline scrum-half Conor Murray currently on International duty, there may be extra opportunities for Casey at the outset of the season, something he is looking to take full advantage of.
“When I’m given the opportunity, I hope to take it with two hands and drive on for the rest of the season.”
