WATCH: Munster’s Denis Logan talks about preseason preparations

WATCH: Munster’s Head of Athletic Performance Denis Logan talks about preseason.

Munster are well back in the swing of their preseason with the players being put through their paces at UL again this week. Last season saw Johann van Graan’s side get to the Champions Cup and Pro14 semi finals only to come up short against Racing 92 and Leinster respectively.

Logan was an assistant S&C coach with the Cleveland Browns NFL franchise before moving to Munster earlier this year and says there as a lot of similarities between the two codes.

“There are a tonne of similarities between American Football and rugby. Rugby is a derivative of American Football….. Physically the players look a lot alike, there is a hard demand on the body for strength, speed and power but there is definitely a strong fitness component involved”.

With below as Logan describes why the preseason is crucial for success further down the line. Video credit Munster Rugby.
