WATCH: Olivia Giltinane chats about All Ireland success and looks ahead to 2019

Olivia Giltenane has done it all with the Limerick LadiesFootballers. This year she won her second All Ireland title with her county after Limerick’s memorable victory over Louth in Croke Park in September.

The victorious squad were honoured at a Civic Reception during the week in Limerick City Hall where we caught up with Giltenane to reflect on a memorable year.

“Wherever the Liam MacCarthy is they are wanting our cup there aswell so its not good enough to have just one, they want our cup aswell. Its brilliant promotion for Limerick Ladies football and hopefully it willcontinue in the year to come.”

After suffering relegation to the bottom tier of the league after winning the competition in 2016, Giltenane is looking at 2019 as a chance to build on the All Ireland success commenting on the youthful nature of the squad at John Ryan’s disposal.

“Plan first of all next year is to win the League. We wonthe league back in 2016 and we didn’t push on the way we should have, a lot ofgirls retired. This year with the new young girls that are with us we hope todefinitely win the league and push on and be competitive.”
