WATCH: Ospreys’ Hooker bitten by lion, misses Cheetahs game

WATCH: Terrifying moment as Ospreys’ Scott Baldwin is bitten by Lion.

Baldwin traveled to South Africa wary of Cheetahs but instead come unstuck at the hands of a lion. What began as a team day trip ended with the Wales hooker picking up the most bizarre rugby injury ever.

Baldwin put his hand through a fence to pet a lion (never a good idea) and the animal took exception and clamped down his left hand as you can see in the video below.

Within seconds Baldwin was free again but not before crying out in pain as the lion took hold.

Ospreys head coach Steve Tandy said:

“When you put your hand into a fence and there’s a lion in there, you can expect to get bit. It’s probably one of the silliest things I’ve ever been involved in.”

As you can see by Tandy’s reaction below, he was less than impressed and would have been every more annoyed with the result on Saturday as the Ospreys fell to a  44-25 defeat meaning they have only won one of their opening five games while the Cheetahs have rebounded from two opening defeats with three consecutive wins to go third in the table and occupy a play off spot.
