WATCH: Peter O’Mahony relishing “season defining” game against Castres

This Sunday Munster welcome Castres to Thomond Park in the Champions Cup before facing into a game away to the French giants the following week.

Munster currently top pool with seven points to their name with a win and a draw under their belt.

However, opponents lie in second and can overtake Munster should they win on Sunday.

Munster’s Peter O’Mahony is more than aware of the importance of having home advantage in the opening game and is hoping his side can take full advantage of what promises to be another electric crowd in Thomond this weekend.

“Being up first at home, you know its season defining rugby. We’re expecting a massive challenge, but we know its season defining as I said.”

With the Internationals robbing Munster of a number of key players over the past couple of months, Mahony says it was key that the Province continued in winning ways in the absence of these internationals.

Its very important, the close ones especially, Glasgow inparticular and the following 3 or 4 games were massively important for us topick up points especially for the league.”

“That rolls into momentum for the next few weeks.”
