Tipperary earned their 28th All-Ireland Hurling title yesterday with a comprehensive 3-25 to 0-20 win over Kilkenny.

That game officially brought Limerick’s reign as All-Ireland champions to an end after they bridged a 45-year gap last August.

A Year On

On August 19 2018, Limerick defeated Galway 3-16 to 2-18 to bring Liam MacCarthy back to Shannonside for the first time since 1973.

The emotion around the city for the coming days and weeks was remarkable as John Kiely’s side stole the hearts of the county and nation alike.
