On August 19 2018, Limerick bridged a 45-year-gap when they defeated Galway in Croke Park to capture the Liam MacCarthy Cup.
The emotion of seeing Declan Hannon raise up that hallowed trophy will live eternally in the memory of all Limerick people.
A year on, RTÉ have released a special edition of their programme, ‘The Game’ which looks back on memorable All-Ireland final victories.
This episode looks back on Limerick’s historic victory with numerous clips from that game, including the unforgettable celebrations.
Richie McCarthy is interviewed as he returns to Kilfinane NS, his local Primary School where he is met with a chorus of ‘Ooh Richie McCarthy’.
The programme is available on the RTÉ Player!
