WATCH: Rian O’Halloran Memorial Tournament to be Held on December 29th

Earlier this week, we spoke to Ray O’Halloran, father of the late Rian O’Halloran who tragically lost his battle with cancer last year at the age of 16. Rian was a sports fanatic and played with Shelbourne AFC and St. Mary’s Rugby Club. Rian was also part of the Limerick District League Kennedy Cup team at the age of 14.

Life will never be the same again for the O’Halloran family following his devastating passing, but father Ray was promoting the Rian O’Halloran memorial tournament which will be held on Decebmber 29th at Shelbourne Park at 11.30 am. It is a football tournament with four teams entering with Ray admitting that Rian would not have been happy if it wasn’t an event linked to soccer.

The four teams who have been invited to play are Granville Rangers, Shelbourne AFC, St. Mary’s RFC and St. Clements who Rian had deep links with for various reasons. All donations on the day will be given to Aoibheann’s pink tie charity who give financial and practical supports to families dealing with cancer and were very helpful to the O’Halloran family during Rian’s brave battle.
