In collaboration with Crossing the Line Films, RTÉ have produced a three part series that showcases hurling’s standing in history and its current place within Irish society.
‘The Game’ was filmed in cinema 4K quality over the past two years and contains interviews with current stars like Joe Canning and Austin Gleeson, as well as icons of the past that include Jimmy Barry Murphy and Ger Loughnane.
Over 60 interviews took place and the transcribed versions will be used as a learning tool in schools across the country in the coming years. Footage from the 1920’s, 30’s and 40’s has also been revamped to HD standard.
‘The Game’s first episode airs on Monday, July 30th at 9:35pm on RTÉ1. Click below for the preview.
