WATCH: Ryan passionately defends Janesboro Approach

Janesboro Football Club joint manager Aidan Ryan has hit back at critics of the “top four” clubs in Limerick following the shock departure of star striker Shane Clarke to Aisling Annacotty.

Clarke broke the news to his boyhood club last week which took the whole junior soccer fraternity by surprise. Ryan paid a wholehearted tribute to Clarke upon his departure but was quick to defend the club amid criticism from other managers in recent weeks.

I listened to a few interviews that you have done on this channel and there was criticism levelled at the top four clubs; Janesboro, Pike, Ballynanty and Fairview.

That sort of commentary is disrespectful to other clubs. To suggest that the top four clubs aren’t putting money in to their facilities is disingenuous.

You look around at Janesboro and we have two fantastic pitches, a gymnasium, dressing rooms and club. Is someone trying to tell us that we don’t put money into our facilites?

Ryan also speaks in detail about the departure of Shane Clarke and the recent resurgence from his side following an opening night hammering against Pike.
