It’s been a frustrating season of sorts for Sammy Arnold. The centre won his first cap for Ireland against the USA but injuries have curtailed him building on a very impressive breakthrough season with Munster.
Arnold was a member of the travelling party to Coventry for Munster’s Champions Cup defeat to Saracens at the weekend but did not take to the field.
He says that Munster have improved immeasurably in his three years at the province and that there is no shame in losing to a team of Saracens’ quality.
“Out of the three semis that we have been in i think that’s the best that we have performed.
“I think that we have showed that we have come on a long way and I think that, to be honest, we lost to a better team.
“They are better than us at the moment and there is no shame in that. We just have to get better.”
