WATCH: Stander hoping Munster “produce it again this weekend”

After a somewhat mixed beginning to the season, Munster now face into a hectic and crucial period in their campaign. On Saturday they face leinster before opening their champions cup season the following week against Exeter Chiefs.

Last weekend, Munster demonstrated exactly what they are capable of, decimating Ulster in Thomond Park, notching nine tries and racking up an incredible 64-7 scoreline against their Provincial rivals. Munster’s CJ Stander is delighted his side had the opportunity to showcase this talent ahead of the trip to Dublin.

“It’s good to show off those skills. It’s a thing that Johann brought in when he came in, to make sure the forwards can handle the ball and I think it paid off. Just comes down to if we can produce it again this weekend.”

Munster currently sit in third place in their conference of the Pro 14 table and know a loss to Leinster will be a sever blow before the team faces a champions cup back-to-back. With such important fixtures coming up, CJ Stander says his side have not changed anything in their preparation , outlining how all teams are treated with respect in the build up.

“Going onto this weekend, I think every time (we play) concentration is up there, everyone is ready to go. Everyone got a few chances, the team changed over the last few weeks. It will come down to the more consistent team and everyone playing with each other for a long time now and that’s important building into these weeks.”
