WATCH: Stephen Archer “looking forward to getting back playing” after break

After Irelands thrilling win over New Zealand last weekend, attention now returns to the Guinness Pro 14 with a trip to Zebre this weekend for Munster.

For those like Stephen Archer, the game in Italy provides a chance to impress the management while the Internationals prepare for a game against the US.

Archer is just happy to get back on the field after their recent break from the competition.

“To be honest I’m just looking forward to getting back on the pitch and playing rugby. Obviously we got a break, it’s enjoyable to have that, but it’s the middle of the season, looking forward to getting back playing and get the momentum.”

With John Ryan with Ireland this weekend, it is another chance for Ryan to stake his claim for a starting berth with the return of the champions cup just around the corner.

“It’s an opportunity for me to lay down a claim and put in a big performance. Show the coaches what I can do. That’s my main focus this weekend from a personal point of view”
