WATCH: ” The past is the past and we have no control over that, we have every control over the future.”- John Kiely focused on the Munster Championship

The new Munster championship gets its first run out this Sunday when Limerick welcome Tipperary to the Gaelic Grounds at 2pm. These sides met in the semi-final of the league where Tipperary needed extra time to see off a spirited treaty side. Limerick will take inspiration from that display as they go in search of a first Munster final since 2014.

John Kiely is keen not to dwell on the past however, as a young and exciting group of hurlers in Limerick are quickly emerging with two All Ireland U21 titles in the last three years. With the league firmly behind Limerick, attention is firmly focused on Tipperary this Sunday.

“The past is the past. this group doesn’t look to the past for any reference points. There is a never a reference to the past since we got together. The past is the past and we have no control over that, we have every control over the future.”
