Munster got their PRO 14 campaign off to the best possible start last week with a six-try 38-0 demolition job on the Cheetahs in Thomond Park. This week however is a completely different story as Munster travel to Glasgow to take on the Warriors. Munster flanker, Tommy O’Donnell is well aware of the task at hand for his side in Scoutstoun.
“The jump in quality this week is going to be massive. You’re going to a team that finished top of our tier last year and they really set the standard in defence and physicality last year so its going to be a big step up, especially as you are away from home.”
Last week, Glasgow started their season with a dramatic 27-26 victory over Connacht in Galway. Stuart Hogg looked to have won the game for the Warriors with a late drop goal before Connacht were awarded a penalty to win the game but were denied the victory by the post. Glasgow now have the chance to build on this win at home to Munster on Friday and O’Donnell says the Glasgow crowd will be a huge advantage to the Warriors.
“The crowd, they get behind the Warriors, it can be quite intimidating at times, it’s loud and like that, they really feed off your mistakes and Warriors turnovers. It’s a tough place to go. A place we have had good results and bad results.”
