WATCH: “This is massive for us” – John Ryan on sponsorship deal with Woodlands House Hotel

Last night saw Fitzgeralds Woodlands House Hotel & Spa pledge their continued support of Limerick Ladies Football and Camogie as they were named the 2019 sponsor of both county panels.

The announcement was made at an event held at the four-star Adare hotel celebrating Limerick Women in Sport, past, present and future.

As well as financial support, the 2019 sponsorships will also see the hotel partner with both panels in a way that will enhance players’ training regimes and overall team performance.

Each player will be given unrestricted access to the hotel’s state-of-the-art gym and 20-metre swimming pool to help them build and maintain fitness levels.

The hotel will also host training weekends during the year and create nutritionally balanced menus specially optimised for performance players.

It as seen as a major breakthrough for women’s GAA in Limerick and ladies football manager John Ryan hailed the new sponsorship deal.

“This is massive for us. We came back here the night of the All-Ireland Final and we got a massive reception. It’s absolutely huge.

“It takes a lot of the pressure off us as a management team because you are not looking out for rooms to do video analysis.

We can come in here, we are well looked after and it’s after raising the profile of our players.”

Olivia Giltenane is one of the ladies football players that has benefited already and will benefit further as a result of the new sponsorship.

“We are delighted to have the Woodlands as our sponsors. We are very lucky to have them.

“They were brilliant even before the sponsorship. Hopefully, it will benefit us, like it did last year, this year.”
