WATCH | Tommy Barrett “happy with the win” as Treaty ease past Longford

Treaty were comfortable in their win over Longford Town on Friday evening.

Treaty United’s resurgence in the First Division continued in the Markets Fields on Friday evening as Tommy Barrett’s men picked up a 3-0 win at the expense of Longford Town.

Level at the break, Marc Ludden broke the deadlock from the penalty spot early in the second half. Enda Curren double their advantage from the same spot as he also made it three late on with a well taken header.

The victory brings Treaty within three points of fourth placed Longford Town and level with Wexford United on 30 points.

It also bridges the gap to seventh placed Bray Wanderers with Barrett’s men having a nine point cushion there.

Barrett spoke to Treaty United TV after the game and praised his side against a good team.

“We’re happy with the win. We obviously have more to work on but I thought the lads put in a really good performance against a really good side. It was great for us to get the three points.

“We’re not under pressure. Pressure is for tyres and bouncy castles. We take it game by game. If we win, fantastic, if we don’t, hopefully we win the next one.”
