WATCH: UL claim All-Ireland Freshers hurling title with victory over LIT

The University of Limerick are All-Ireland Hurling Freshers champions following a comprehensive victory over Limerick Institute of Technology at the Gaelic Grounds this afternoon.

UL won out on a 3-17 to 1-10 scoreline thanks to goals from Cathal Ruane, Billy Power and Oisin Flannery, as well as eight Tommy O’Connell points.

UL led by 1-7 to 1-6 at the end of the first half with Daniel Ryan cancelling out Ruane’s effort.

However, it was all UL after the break with Power and Flannery’s goals seeing the college to victory.

UL captain Conor Nicholas of Monaleen received the trophy at the end of the game much to the delight of his fellow teammates.
