Hosts University of Limerick reached the Collingwood Cup Final with a 2-0 victory over Ulster University.
The first half proved to be quite tense with neither side daring to show their hand first. It took until midway through the second half for the first goal to arrive.
Ulster University could only clear a corner to the edge of their box where substitute Ed O’Dwyer was lurking and he drove the ball low into the net to give UL the advantage.
Ulster University put the pressure on in search of an equaliser but were undone once again when Alan Murphy played the ball across from the right to Illiah Cocerhan who made it 2-0 to the home side.
That began the celebrations for UL who are back to try and win their first Collingwood after being denied by a late goal from UCD in the 2016 final.
In that final they will play UCC after the Cork college beat UCD. The final takes places tomorrow at 2:30pm in the Markets Field.
