WATCH: van Graan discusses the departures of Flannery and Jones

In the wake of Munster’s victory over Benetton in the Guinness Pro 14 quarter-final, it was announced that Jerry Flannery and Felix Jones would be leaving their respective positions at the club at the season’s end.

It is disappointing for Munster to lose such quality local men from the set up and Head Coach Johann van Graan says they will be missed.

“We believe competitive terms were offered but they rejected their offers. From a personal point of view its two guys I’ve worked well with and unfortunately they’re moving on.”

However, the season is not over with Munster traveling to the RDS this Saturday to face Leinster in the semi-finals of the domestic league.

Whatever happens on Saturday, van Graan says provisions are already in place to ensure that the summer will run smoothly for the province ahead of what will be a severely altered season due to the upcoming Rugby World Cup.

“Obviously I’m not going to sit here and say its ideal. It is what it is and I’ve got to deal with that and take the positives from it”
