Limerick have topped off a sensational year with a 38-30 victory over Cork in the Fenway Hurling Classic Final at Fenway Park.
John Kiely’s men beat Wexford in a bad tempered opening game but raced into a 21-0 lead in the early stages of the final thanks to some stunning finishing. A superb Cian Lynch strike being one of the big highlights.
Patrick Horgan led the comeback for Cork but Limerick still had a comfortable 24-13 lead after a pulsating opening 20 minutes.
They never looked like surrendering that advantage in the second half in front of 12,674 people at the home of the Boston Red Sox with another Cian Lynch goal helping Limerick to an eight point final winning margin.

Limerick manager John Kiely was also victim to an American tradition as Declan Hannon received the trophy as he was doused in iced water by a couple of his players.
