WATCH: “You’ve got to win your own ball” O’Mahony on Castres breakdown

Munster’s back to back clashes with Castres will go a long way in determining their fate in the Champions Cup this year as they look to build on back to back Semi-Final appearances.

First up is a clash in Thomond Park this Sunday where Munster can extend their lead at the top of Pool 2.

For Peter O’Mahony, the breakdown will be crucial in the winning or losing of the game and admits that Castres have some high quality forwards capable of turning over the ball.

“[The] Breakdown is going to be massive. They’ve three, four, five guys who are excellent. A lot of their team will have a go so. Breakdown is the most important part of the game whatever team you look at.”

Yet Munster have plenty of quality in their own ranks and should be a well suited match for the French side.

While Johann van Graan’s side have adopted a more attacking approach this season, the fundamentals are still where Munster excel and O’Mahony is confident in his sides ability to compete at the breakdown.

“We know it could be the winning or losing of the game as it is most weekends. Its so important. We have to get that area right and you’ve got to win your own ball.”
