“We need a reaction this weekend” | Graham Rowntree and Jack O’Sullivan look ahead to Zebre

Ahead of Saturday’s URC meeting with Zebre, Graham Rowntree and Jack O’Sullivan were on media duty.

Munster welcome Zebre to Musgrave Park for their first home game of the season this Sunday still seeking a maiden win.

Defeats in Cardiff and against the Dragons were not the desired start for Graham Rowntree and his new coaching ticket.

But the experienced coach has full belief in the work the side did in the pre season as the welcome the Italians in the hope of a first win this year.

“I’ve absolute belief in the body of work that we’ve done through the summer. We worked exceptionally hard, trained well.”

“I’ve been around a bit and I’ve seen a lot of pre-season, a lot of training environments and I’ve absolute belief in what we’ve done but it’s got to come out in the game and as I keep saying it’s stuff we can control and we have to be better.”

And for back rower Jack O’Sullivan, the responsibility lays at the hands of the players who will be keen to rectify the wrongs of the opening pair of games.

“I think that the players have to take all the onus to be honest.

“The game plan was good, the training was good, we felt fresh going into the game and again as Graham discussed it was just individual errors like trying to force things, throw that extra long pass when the short pass will do and the players we know it wasn’t good enough and we need a reaction now this weekend.”
