“We will always err on the side of caution with a bang to the head” | John Kiely offers update on Sean Finn

The four in a row All-Star defender was injured in a collision prior to half time in the game with Cork on Sunday.

Sean Finn is a doubt to face Clare on Sunday in the fourth round of the National Hurling League after picking up a knock to the head in Limerick’s defeat to Cork yesterday.

The All-Star corner back was hit in the head by the shoulder of Shane Kingston, who was subsequently sent off in the aftermath.

Finn was removed from the field after the challenge, which occurred just prior to the half time whistle, with the Bruff man not returning to the field thereafter as he was replaced by Richie English.

In the wake of the game, John Kiely addressed the health of Finn who was not put back into the game out of caution.

“Sean Finn took a bang to the head. Out of caution we said we would keep him out. The boys did a head injury assessment and they felt the prudent thing was to not put him back in. We will always err on the side of caution with a bang to the head.”

Watch Kiely discuss Finn and the entire game below.
